SoftTap aftercare · Day by day

Healing first. Judging later.

What you see day to day during healing is temporary, and it does not reflect your final result. Choose your service to see what is normal at each stage.

Find your timeline

What did you have done?

This process is a metamorphosis, not a makeover.

Week 1

Caterpillar

Dark color and some discomfort are normal.

Your skin is protecting itself.

Gently apply your aftercare ointment to the brow area. This helps protect the skin, ease dryness or tightness, and support color retention as new skin forms.

Between week 1 and week 3

The in-between

Scabbing and patchiness can show up here. Please do not judge your brows while they are present.

Think about scraping your elbow: when the scab comes off after 7 to 9 days, the skin underneath looks very light or pink.

Let flakes lift naturally. Do not pick, rub, or scratch.

After week 3

Butterfly

Refined and beautiful.

Color continues to settle naturally.

What healing looks like

  • Darkness means protection
  • Lightness means regeneration
  • Patchiness means cell turnover
  • Uneven tone means skin is healing
  • Itching means healing. Resist the scratch.

You cannot evaluate a healing process while it is still healing.

SoftTap eyeliner (lash enhancement) needs time to reveal its true results. This process is a metamorphosis, not magic.

Days 1 to 2

Caterpillar

Swollen and dark.

Your skin is protecting itself.

Days 3 to 5

Cocoon

Flaky and tight.

Your skin is regenerating.

You cannot evaluate eyeliner while swelling or flaking is present.

SoftTap lip blush needs time to reveal its true results. This process is a metamorphosis, not magic.

Days 1 to 2

Caterpillar

Refined and beautiful.

Color and shape settle.

Days 3 to 4

Cocoon

Peeling and flaky.

Your skin is shedding.

Lip color disappears before it settles.

Every day while you heal

Simple steps that protect your result.

Your aftercare

  • Wash your hands before touching the area.
  • Use a clean Q-tip to pick up a small amount of RecoverAll.
  • Apply a light, even glaze. More product does not improve healing and can interfere with the healing surface.
  • Do not pick, rub, or scratch. Let flakes lift naturally.

Protect your results

  • Keep the area clean and avoid soaking it unless instructed.
  • Avoid heavy sweating, steam rooms, saunas, and swimming early in healing.
  • No makeup on the treated area until it is no longer flaking and has stabilized.
  • No exfoliants, acids, or retinoids on or near the area until MAW clears you.
  • Limit direct sun and avoid tanning on the treated area.

Stay calm, stay clear

Is what I am seeing normal?

Normal during healing

  • Darker color or temporary intensity
  • Mild tenderness, tightness, dryness, or flaking
  • Itching. It is a sign your skin is healing, so please do not scratch, rub, or pick
  • Patchiness or an uneven look while the surface heals
  • Color that seems to fade before it settles, especially lips
  • Swelling in the first 24 to 48 hours
Still unsure? When to reach out

If something does not match what you see above, we would rather hear from you than have you worry. Contact MAW (Tuesday to Saturday) if you notice:

  • Redness that spreads beyond the treated area
  • Swelling that worsens after the first 48 hours
  • Yellow or green discharge, or a persistent odor
  • Pain that is escalating instead of improving
  • Heat that is increasing or out of proportion for the stage of healing

If you ever believe you need urgent medical care, such as severe swelling, difficulty breathing, or signs of a serious allergic reaction, seek that first, then let us know when you are able.

Questions about dryness, flaking, or comfort? Contact MAW rather than adjusting your aftercare on your own.
