Softap Permanent Makeup,
Built for Living Skin

Permanent makeup must live with your face and skin over time. At Masters At Werk, we begin with the person, build with restraint, and look beyond the fresh result.

03 / THE METHOD

What Is Softap?

Softap is a manual permanent makeup technique. A controlled hand technique places pigment rather than a powered tattoo machine.

With roots in the late 1980s, the method offers a hands-on approach. At MAW, we emphasize control, restraint, gradual development, and integration after healing.

05 / THE FOUNDATION

Living Skin Changes Everything

Permanent makeup lives in living skin. Pigment changes as skin heals, so fresh work is only the beginning.

Skin characteristics, previous procedures, and existing pigment all inform the plan. We think about how the work will settle and live with the face, not only how it looks on the day.

06 / THE MAW POINT OF VIEW

Integration,
Not Illustration

The goal is not to draw a brow onto the face. It is to integrate permanent makeup with the person who wears it.

Natural brow growth. Facial structure. Movement. Proportion. Skin. Healed pigment. These belong in the same conversation.

07 / LOOKING BEYOND TODAY

Why Brows Can Look Drawn On Over Time

An overly rigid shape, excessive saturation, repeated layering, or poor integration with natural brow growth can contribute to an illustrated appearance. Healing also changes what we see.

No single technique explains every result. The design, the skin, the pigment already present, and the decisions made over time all matter.

08 / APPROACH, NOT A COMPETITION

Softap and More Illustrated Approaches

Some permanent makeup is designed for a more defined visual effect. MAW prefers a softer, integrated result developed gradually.

That is a point of view about design and process, not a blanket judgment about another method. Our focus is how the work belongs with your face after healing.

09 / RESTRAINT IS PART OF THE WORK

The Gradual Build

MAW’s structured three-session philosophy leaves room for healing and considered refinement. The aim is not to do everything at once.

Foundation → Healing → Refinement

We begin conservatively, observe how the work settles, and refine the plan as needed. The amount of work and the next step depend on the individual, not an identical treatment formula.

10 / DESIGNED FOR THE PERSON

A Brow Is Not Selected From a Template

Design considers your face, natural brow growth, bone structure, expression, asymmetry, age, skin, and history. Existing pigment becomes part of that assessment when previous work is present.

Proportion matters. So does movement. The design should belong to you when your face is at rest and when it is fully alive.

11 / THE EVIDENCE THAT MATTERS

Fresh Is One Moment.
Healed Is the Truth.

Fresh work shows one stage of the process. Healed work helps us evaluate how the pigment has settled and how it integrates with the face.

12 / PREVIOUS WORK / A REALITY CHECK

More Pigment Is Not Always the Next Step

Evaluate existing pigment before creating a new plan. The appropriate next step may be waiting, lightening, removal, considered correction, or declining additional pigment.

Not every previous-work case can be corrected by adding more. An honest assessment comes before a promise.

13 / BEYOND BROWS

Lips. Liner. The Same Considered Approach.

Softap also includes work for lips and liner or lash enhancement. Brows remain the starting point here; explore the dedicated page for these other areas.

14 / WHY MASTERS AT WERK

Specialist Work. A Considered Standard.

Our point of view is consistent: work with the person, respect the starting point, build gradually, and focus on the healed result.

15 / A CONSIDERED NEXT STEP

Begin with Jason’s message. If you decide to continue, the next step will be to request a private consultation invitation from MAW.
